THE BEGINNING OF THE END August 19, 2016 barley the first week of senior year and I’m already feeling stressed. I say stressed because of all the work that needs to be done before finally getting my Lindsay High School diploma. Having practically one leg out of the door is very nerve racking due to not knowing what’s to come in the future. However, I’m motivated and very determined to go through any tough, heavy-duty obstacle that’s put along the way throughout my senior year journey. First week as a Lindsay High School senior and it has already, without a doubt, been a roller coaster. I’ve had to drop a class, get one of my periods fixed, and have my schedule rearranged. After the first week, I finally managed to get a correct class school schedule which comes along with: Fitness training, Economics/Government, Algebra 2, Chemistry, English 12, Teacher’s aide and Leadership. Personally, it kind of sucks being the oldest in high school. Well not in high school but in the group of friends I hang out with. I got used to being the one laughing at what my older friends would say or do; now I’m the one who has to make jokes and keep my younger friends entertained. I have a few main goals I want to set myself as a senior in high school this year it is to be successful in both academically as well as in soccer. Academically I hope to finish off strong, passing 7 out of 7 classes in both semesters. Another main goal I have is bringing up my GPA to a 3.5, like I did my first semester as a junior. Another one of my goals is to always remain on pace, or even better ahead of pace. Turn in my work on due dates and not procrastinate like I’ve done a lot in the past. In soccer wise I would like to be way more successful than the last year’s 2015/2016, and remain on varsity like I have been the past 3 years. Ever since I was a little boy in elementary, my dream was always to one day win valley for varsity soccer. This last year in varsity soccer/high school, I hope to finally accomplish and achieve my goal/dream. Also win league like we did last year. As a senior, I honestly just want to get this last year over with. I want and hope that time goes by fast so that I can finally be a Lindsay High School graduate. I like the sound of going out to college and being self-independent. Am I ready? Do I feel ready? Not completely, but I am in the process of getting there. Though If it was on my, I would chose to graduate in this exact moment to be honest. To finish off and make things clear, I have mixed feelings towards my final year here at Lindsay High School I feel super excited but also super nervous. I don’t know nor have a clue what’s in store for me. I just really hope everything turns as planned.
Halfway There As the first semester of Senior years approaches to it’s end and practically having one leg out the door, excites me tremendously. I am currently passing 6 out of 7 classes. I am passing Fitness training, Economics, Algebra 2, English, Teacher's Aid and Leadership. However, I am struggling with Chemistry. I have been struggling with Chemistry because it’s hard for me to learn and also because it’s a fast pace/fast moving class. Though I am struggling and not on pace on Chemistry, I will keep pushing myself to overcome and succeed. My goal without a doubt is to finish off strong passing all my seven classes. To continue with, my Senior project has been a little tough but good. It’s been a little tough because I still haven’t gotten the hang of it. However, I have completed the majority; for example, I have published my Life Map, my About Me, My Job Shadow, along with my Narrative Essay and Questions. I still have some parts to finish, but I will get to it as soon as possible. What I learned from my Job Shadow, which was at Wild Bill's Barbershop, was that it isn’t as easy as it looks. The countless hours that is required for a barber to be standing on his two feet is insane. Also, barbers have to constantly deal with rude customers daily. In the bright side, being a barber allows you to please countless amount of customers which to me is amazing. Furthermore, my plans for my future is to be totally, one hundred percent successful. I plan on attending college, graduating college, getting a career, and having a future wife and family of my own. I have now submitted college applications to Fresno State and College of The Sequoias. I also plan to apply to San Jose State, Stanislaus and Porterville College. What excites me the most about finally graduating high school is nothing more than being able to experience independence. Also, going off to college, meeting new people and visiting new places. To finish off, I am currently involved in the Lindsay High School Varsity Soccer team in which I was elected as Captain. As the team captain, I try to push the whole team to greatness and success. My goal for this 2016-2017 season is to win league champions for the 6th time in a row. Also to win a Valley Championship for the Lindsay High School Varsity soccer boys/Lindsay High School.
One Step Closer What can I say, it’s been a heck of a roller coaster so far. I’ve had huge ups and downs throughout the year. The pressure just keeps building and building as the semester creeps to an end. At this point of the school year I have managed to stay on pace on six out of my seven classes, which are: Fitness training, Economics, Algebra 2, English 12, Teachers Aide and Leadership. However, the class that has been stressing me out to the max is Chemistry. Chemistry is without a doubt the hardest class I have and have had my whole high school career. Though I am really struggling with Chemistry class, my goal is to overcome and come up top so I am able to attend a four year University. As for my other classes, though I have had bumps along the way, I have managed to stay up top and on pace. However, I will have a busy winter break doing A LOT of homework. Furthermore, the activities I am without a doubt enjoying the most are participating in leadership events and finally have started the 2016-2017 Lindsay High School Varsity soccer season. I love contributing in Leadership class because I like helping and being involved. As for soccer, my main overall goal is to win the Valley Championship. I want to win a the Valley Championship because I want to make Lindsay/Lindsay High school proud, also because it’s been a dream of mine ever since I was a little boy. To continue with, what makes me anxious the most is that time is going by way too fast. I have all these homework assignments/deadlines, and knowing school will be out soon is what makes me really anxious. However, I really do want graduating day to come already. Heading off to winter break/Holidays, my plans are to practice, practice and practice for my LHS soccer games. Also go to work to make money, maybe go off to Mexico for a few days, and last but not least to get as much sleep/rest as possible before school starts again. Am I excited for 2017 to come? My answer is, YES. Yes I am excited, and the reason for that is because it’s finally the year of graduation! It’s a bittersweet feeling. I’ve looked forward to this year ever since I entered High School and It is finally around the corner. Also, it’s the year I turn 18 which also gets me really excited and pumped. 2017 will be the year of new adventures and new experiences.
